Research interest is in understanding the molecular/genetic programs that control proper cortical connectivity. Specifically interested in how distinct subtypes of forebrain neurons are programmed during development to establish their unique connectivity, and how these programs could be manipulated to promote re-wiring and functional recovery in neurodegenerative diseases or after injury.
