Project at a glance
Regulation of asymmetric cell division
Asymmetric cell division is essential for generating cell diversity during development and stem cell self-renewal. The lab studies polarity axis establishment and mitotic spindle positioning using C. elegans embryos combined with microscopy, genetics, and functional genomics. Research aims to identify factors required for polarity and spindle positioning, characterizing their roles in underlying signaling pathways. Findings will improve understanding of asymmetric cell division across systems, particularly regarding normal and cancer stem cell self-renewal control.
