Project at a glance
The laboratory seeks to understand the cerebral, cognitive and psychiatric development of youths affected psychiatric disorders.
The group studies developmental trajectories of psychopathology in children and adolescents through schizotypy, schizophrenia, autism, and personality disorders, with particular expertise in 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome. Research combines magnetic resonance imaging, psychology, and psychiatric assessments across three cohort studies. Methods include structural MRI analyses of brain volumes, cortical folding and thickness, white matter characteristics, and functional MRI targeting cognitive domains like face processing and emotion recognition. Behavioral protocols assess executive function, memory, and social cognition via eyetracking. Future work aims to identify developmental risk and protective factors while integrating findings across genetic, molecular, and animal model investigations.
