Project at a glance
The long-term goal of our laboratory is to identify the molecular basis of circadian rhythmicity
Laboratory focuses on identifying molecular basis of circadian rhythmicity in rodent and human peripheral tissues in physiological and obesity/type 2 diabetes conditions. Circadian oscillation reflects intrinsic biological clocks with near 24-hour periods that regulate key metabolic processes. Research addresses connection between metabolic pathologies and circadian clockwork, and explores molecular makeup of human thyroid clocks in physiology and thyroid malignancies to understand circadian clock role in thyroid cancer and develop diagnostic applications.
