Project at a glance

RNA metabolism and bacterial pathogenesis

RNA metabolism encompasses processes involving RNA synthesis, processing, translation, and degradation that significantly affect bacterial adaptation and survival. The research explores RNA metabolism's role in bacterial pathogenesis using Pseudomonas aeruginosa as the primary model organism. This ecologically adaptable bacterium causes widespread nosocomial infections globally. Through examining RNA modification, processing, and degradation in P. aeruginosa, the group aims to identify key regulatory mechanisms influencing bacterial survival, virulence, and antibiotic resistance, ultimately contributing to novel antimicrobial strategy development.
