Project at a glance
The lab employs yeast as a model organism to investigate mRNA creation and nuclear transport mechanisms, with emphasis on how nuclear organization influences gene expression. Current investigations examine nuclear pore contributions to transcription control via SUMO proteases, ubiquitin's role in messenger ribonucleoprotein dynamics, and antisense RNA functions in gene regulation using genomic and single-cell techniques.
