Project at a glance

The mission of the CALIPHO group is to combine bioinformatics and experimental methodologies to increase our knowledge of human proteins.

CALIPHO is part of the University of Geneva and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB). It uses different experimental techniques in order to discover the function of selected sets of uncharacterized proteins of human origin.

CALIPHO is developing neXtProt, a comprehensive knowledge platform on human proteins, in close collaboration with Swiss-Prot and GeneBio. neXtProt is being built so that it can act as a central resource of high quality protein-centric information for any life scientist undertaking modern biomedical research.
